In a mixing bowl, beat eggs slightly, beat in buttermilk, beer, sour cream and melted butter.
2 Add pancake mix and beat until almost smooth.
3 Spoon out into saucer-sized circles on medium-hot ungreased griddle or heavy frying pan.
4 Bake until golden brown on both sides (flip when bubbles appear all over on moist surface).
5 Serve hot with maple syrup.

If batter is not user immediately, wait until just before cooking to add beer.
