Hobo Stew

A tasty and easy alternative to grilling burgers! Also, a great family - building exercise, if each member makes their own.

  1. Tear off a piece of foil that is approximately 4 inches longer than it is wide and set on counter.
  2. Split all ingredients in half and mix both portions on their own piece of aluminum foil.
  3. Curl up sides of the foil and add 1/4 cup of water to the mixture.

  1. Rorate the foil in front of you, so that the long portion runs from top to bottom.
  2. If needed, push the meat, vegetables and soup mix to the center.
  3. Take the top part of the foil and lift it up toward the center.
  4. Fold the foil over with a 1/2" crease where it meets (see image).
  5. Keep folding the foil over in 1/2" creases until the center meets the food.
  6. On an open end, fold the end (see image) up in 1/2" creases.
  7. Continue folding until it meets the food. Repeat with other end.
  8. Your completed package should look like the image. The drugstore fold takes practice. You will know you've done it right if the foil wrapper expands during cooking, because it is holding in all the juices and steam-heating the meal.
